More Than Sparkling Spirits: Karrikin Launches Canned Beer
After surging popularity of Karrikin Spirits Company’s taproom beer options, fans of Cincinnati’s rapidly growing craft distillery will have access to two of their favorites as Karrikin launches canned beer.
Based on taproom and keg sales, as well as feedback from the public, Karrikin is canning Pils, its pilsner style beer and Citra IPA, aptly named for the hops in this India Pale Ale.
Why Beer?
While Karrikin’s primary focus is its canned Sparkling Spirits that Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, and Dayton have grown to love, two of the distillery’s owners come from highly-touted beer backgrounds. Owners Jeff Hunt (formerly of MadTree) and Eric Baumann (formerly of Christian Moerlein and Oskar Blues) spent their beer careers at some recognizable breweries before joining forces to enter the craft distilling industry.
“These are our two most popular brands in the taproom,” says Baumann. “It’s time to get them out there for people to enjoy at home. They’re classic styles, straight-forward, and easy-drinking.”
